Re Radon mitigation: wouldn't the ideal place to locate the pipe be near the middle of the basement, if routing permits?

In the latest March 2017 issue of HandyMan is a great article about Radon Mitigation. I would think if routing and space permits and you have the patience to do the routing, the ideal place for the hole in the basement floor would be as close to the center of the foundation.
