Radiator noise
My girlfriend heats her home with a steam furnace here in denver. She has a 7 room house, and what we are wondering about is the noise that comes from the valves on the radiators. Not all 7 rooms give off this annoying hissing sound when the furnace is running, right now 3 of the rooms hiss like crazy .. We have changed the valves, that seems to work for a while and then either the same room or another room will start the hissing sounds ... Is this hissing sound a normal function ? And if it is, then why don't all the radiators give off that noise ?

I'm currently painting the inside of my house here in denver for my daughter's party. The walls currently are painted with a semigloss finish, which has been on them for around 20 years. I have used TSP to clean the walls. Is there a way I can paint over the old finish without having to sand the walls? Coz I have to paint the entire house before my daughters party in just two days.Do you think it is best to call for a handyman? Do you feel a handyman can finish this task before the party?

What is the best way to install a plywood subfloor over concrete slab in my house in denver? Regular or treated plywood? Glued or nailed? Plastic for vapor barrier between plywood and slab? And how to do it? I have no idea. Should I leave this problem with a handyman? Are there going to charge me so expensive with this service?
